Are the rules different for OO? I’m a little reticent to jump in on this one but… Tattoos are kind of a gray area? I dunno. I may or may not have one. (DO I? DON’T I?) Plenty of people I know do, and some bishops/communities are super anti, others less so, others don’t care much. A tattoo of an icon is almost definitely off-limits, and I wonder if a portrait of a hierarch wouldn’t also be verboten. Since we often sin with our bodies, or even just do things that would not be respectful in front of icons, they shouldn’t be on our bodies. Hm, I know of a mighty fine short film dealing with the subject. :]
